今回も小名木善行さんのお話からです。
大化の改新では、争いではなく、教育と文化によって日本という国を築いていこうという考えが国の柱になりました。

大化の改新と国造り
平安時代の始めに「新撰姓氏録（しんせんしょうじろく）」という本がありました。
この本、氏名の由来や分岐の様子などを示したものですが、この本の中には、畿内に住む1200の豪族のうち、およそ400が渡来系だったということが記されています。
人口の約３分の１が外国人であっても、平和で安定した素晴らしい文化を築くことができました。
これは、日本人が明確な理想を持ち、明確な文化意識を持ち、明確な教育によって「日本はこういう国なのだ」という姿をはっきりと姿形として持っていたということです。
この理想を共有できたからこそ、外国人がいても全然怖くありませんでした。
むしろ外国人が進んで「同じ日本人になっていきたい」とみんなが思っていたからです。
現在、日本在住の外国人の増加により、日本文化が壊されているという方がいますが、むしろ日本人が日本人としての誇りと自覚、理想を持つことのほうが重要なのです。
彼らを批判ばかりしていても、100年たっても日本は良くならないでしょう。
今回の白村江の戦いでも、やはり歴史を遡って見ていかないといけません。
仁徳天皇の時代、日本は東アジア最大の大帝国となり、非常に強い国になりました。
この時に何が起こったにかというと、三国志に登場する魏・呉・蜀の中で、国として最も強大な力を持っていたのが呉であり、軍事力で強かったのは魏の国、政治力で強かったのが蜀の国でした。
その中でも、国力が一番強かったのが呉の国だったわけですが、なんとこの呉の国は日本に朝貢に来ています。
朝貢に来るということは、日本の王の下につくということを表します。
あの三国志の中の呉の国が、日本に朝貢に来ていたことから、いかに日本の国力が強かったのかが伺えます。

The Taika Reform and Nation Building
At the beginning of the Heian period (794-1185), there was a book titled “Shin-sen-shoji-roku” (“Newly Selected Surname Records”).
In this book, which shows the origin of names and their branches, it is noted that of the 1,200 powerful families living in the Kinki region, approximately 400 were immigrants.
Even though about one-third of the population was foreign, they were able to build a peaceful, stable, and wonderful culture.
This means that the Japanese people had clear ideals, a clear cultural awareness, and a clear vision of what Japan was supposed to be through clear education.
Because Japanese people shared these ideals, they were not at all afraid of foreigners.
In fact, immigrants were all willing to “become Japanese people together”.
Today, some people say that the increase in the number of foreigners living in Japan is destroying Japanese culture, but it is more important for Japanese people to have pride, awareness, and ideals as Japanese people.
If we keep criticizing them, Japan will not improve even after 100 years.
In the case of the Battle of Hakusukinoe, we still need to go back and look at history.
During the reign of Emperor Nintoku, Japan became the largest empire in East Asia and a very powerful country.
What happened at that time was that among the three kingdoms of Wei, Wu, and Shu, Wu was the most powerful as a nation, Wei was strong in military power, and Shu was strong in political power.
Among them, the most powerful nation was Wu, and to our surprise, Wu came to Japan to pay tribute.
The country of Wu came to Japan to pay tribute, which means that it was under the king of Japan.
The fact that the nation of Wu in the “Romance of the Three Kingdoms” came to Japan to pay tribute shows how powerful Japan was.
