有田川町清水地区にあるあらぎ島と紙漉き体験に行ってきました。
あらぎ島周辺は、地元の方にお願いをしてお話を聞きました。
結論から言うと、お願いしてよかったです。
冗談を交えたお話がめちゃめちゃ面白かったです。
また、道中に生えている棕櫚（シュロ）の活用についてのお話は、私の知らない活用法があり、非常に勉強になりました。
今度ガイドがあれば使えるネタです。
また、保田紙の紙漉きの歴史を綴った絵本の説明があり、保田紙の歴史について非常にわかりやすくお話をしてくれました。
紙漉き体験は、紙漉きと行灯作り体験をしてきました。
行灯作り体験では、枠作りがわたしにとっては難しく、紐を結んで固定するのに四苦八苦でした。
出来上がった作品は・・・わたしのセンスのいいデザインを真似されると困るので、残念ながらお見せできません（笑）
漉いた紙は後日郵送で送ってもらいます。
他にも色々なところに行き、一日中清水地区で遊ばせていただきました。
桜も満開で心が和みました。
We went to the Aragijima rice terraces in the Shimizu district of Aridagawa Town and to experience paper-making.
Around Aragijima, we asked a local resident to tell us about the rice terraces.
In conclusion, I am glad I asked.
The stories with jokes were very interesting and funny.
I also learned a lot about the use of the hemp palms that grow along the way, which I did not know about.
This is something I can use next time I have a guide.
There was also an explanation of a picture book about the history of papermaking of YASUDA GAMI, and he talked about the history of YASUDA GAMI in a very easy-to-understand way.
For the papermaking experience, we experienced papermaking and making paper lanterns.
In the paper lantern making experience, it was difficult for me to make the frame, and I had a hard time tying the string and fixing it in place.
As for the finished product… I am afraid I cannot show you the finished product because I don’t want people to imitate my tasteful design (laugh).
The paper made will be mailed to me at a later date.
We also went to various other places and spent the whole day playing in the Shimizu area.
The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, which was heartwarming.
