高句麗が兵を引き上げた後、任那の長官が事の顛末を雄略天皇に報告しました。
雄略天皇は優秀な天皇なので、その報告書を見た瞬間にピンときました。
「これはおかしい」と。
新羅の王が逃げて来たのですから、その「悪い奴」というのは強盗などの盗人集団などではありません。
さらには高句麗からの朝貢も途絶えていました。
「もしかすると、この話は違うのではないか」と思い、さらなる調査を命じました。
調べてみれば、高句麗からの朝貢使節団を新羅に襲われ、それに怒った高句麗が新羅に攻め入ったが、任那日本府が逃げてきた新羅の王を匿ってしまったということが判明したのです。
これを聞いた雄略天皇が怒り、新羅に兵を出しました。
すると新羅の王は「日本様と争うつもりはまったくありません。二度と悪いことはしませんので助けてください」と、命乞いをしました。
一国の王に謝られれば、許さないわけにはいきません。
そこで「二度と悪いことをするのではないぞ」と言って日本軍は帰国をしました。
問題は高句麗です。
高句麗は「日本に対する朝貢はもうできません」と言ってきました。
「日本と仲良くすることで高句麗も文化を上げてきました。しかし、朝貢の使節があまりにも危険であり、また新羅の領土を通ることになれば、いつ襲われるか分かりません」と。
これを聞いた日本はどういう心理になるか？
「仕方ない。では、元気でやれよ」となりますよね？
これをきっかけに、高句麗は日本の庇護を離れてしまいました。

After Koguryo withdrew its troops, the chief of Nonna reported the incident to Emperor Yuryaku.
Emperor Yuryaku is an outstanding emperor, so when he saw the report, he immediately knew what was going on.
“This is not right.”
Since the king of Silla had escaped, the “bad guys” were not a group of thieves such as robbers.
Furthermore, tribute from Goguryeo had ceased.
I thought, “Perhaps this story is not true,” and ordered further investigation.
Upon further investigation, he found that the tribute delegation from Koguryo was attacked by Silla, which angered Koguryo and attacked Silla, but the Japanese government of Rinna sheltered the fleeing Silla king.
Hearing this, Emperor Yuryaku became angry and sent soldiers to Silla.
The king of Silla replied, “I have no intention of fighting with the Japanese. I will never do anything wrong again, so please help me.”
If the king of a country apologizes to them, they cannot afford not to forgive him.
The Japanese army returned home, saying, “Do not anything bad again.”
The problem was Koguryo.
Koguryo said, “We can no longer pay tribute to Japan. Koguryo had improved its culture by getting along with Japan. However, the tributary envoys were too dangerous, and if they were to pass through Silla’s territory, they might be attacked at any time.”
What kind of psychology would Japan have upon hearing this?
It can’t be helped,” he said. “Then, cheer up and do it,” right?
This was the beginning of Koguryo’s departure from Japan’s protection.
